As 2014’s calendar year end is in sight, companies are preparing budgets for 2015. The year that the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) Employer Mandate begins for companies who have an employee count of 100+.
Companies are unsure how much to budget toward fines and penalties associated with the ACA. Some companies are looking toward enrolling employees in Medicaid, while others are looking at offering “skinny” plans. These plans cover preventive care but exclude major benefits for costly services like a hospital stay, for example.
